Luxury watches are a perfect complement for an outfit, particularly when accompanying high-end fashion. This is what photographer Harley Weir explored through Audemars Piguet’s new summer collection.

Her pictures highlight the synergy between Haute Couture and Haute Horlogerie and how the wearer’s personality and attitude shine through in their choices. The new 2021 Royal Oak timepieces are designed for the contemporary woman and shine with diverse colours and styles.

The new range features sleek black ceramics, sparkling Frosted Gold and vivid, contrasting multicoloured gemstones. They are clearly designed to be real statements when worn on the wrist. And as expected with an Audemars Piguet, age-old traditional engineering and know-how is blended with innovation.

Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramics

This stunning 34mm black model is enhanced with pink gold accents producing a subtle two-tone contrast. The black ceramic case features 18-carat pink gold screws and the dial comes with the trademark “Grande Tapisserie” pattern, pink gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating.

This timepiece is finished with a black ceramic bracelet and the AP folding clasp.

Royal Oak Selfwinding Frosted Gold

This model has a 34mm 18-carat white gold case, which is decorated with Frosted Gold and enhanced with the “Grande Tapisserie” dial in new shades of blue. It’s a unique combination celebrating the Swiss brand’s savoir-faire, refinement and craftsmanship.

The light blue dial has white gold applied hour-markers, with the Royal Oak hands and luminescent coating. The bracelet is made with an 18-carat white gold case which is designed by using a hammering technique producing a sleek finish. It also features the AP folding clasp.

Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked

This new 41mm wristwatch is extremely colourful, featuring a bezel set with 32 “rainbow” baguette-cut multicoloured gemstones. The aesthetics are truly stunning and the interplay of colours, materials and refined decorations is reportedly inspired by diverse worlds, including Haute Couture.

The hammered pink gold case and bracelet are finished with Frosted Gold, which along with the gemstones, illuminates the openworked slate grey dial and movement. The dial is complemented with pink gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating.

Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph

This model, created by the Le Brassus brand’s artisans, has a dial displaying a range of purple hues that change in the light. It is framed by 32 baguette-cut amethysts decorating the bezel to match the tones of the purple dial perfectly.

The amethysts are set in a 38mm 18-carat pink gold case and the purple dial features the “Grande Tapisserie” pattern, purple chronograph counters, 18-carat pink gold applied hour-markers, plus the Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating.

The brand’s new 2021 timepieces are visually stunning and full of personality. As Harley Weir stated:

“My inspiration for the shoot was to think about the way the watch was made and its different materials and then think about how the woman is made, what is part of her personality, what is her character, who she is… fashion has always intrigued me as well in that sense, building your character. I love this idea that people wear part of themselves visually...”
